Our May Saturday Night at the Y event is set for this Saturday, May 11th from 6pm-8pm here at the Y. Thanks for your assistance in helping us promote this program to our students – reminder it is FREE for all 6th,7th, & 8th grade students in Hutch & Reno County. Participants DO NOT have to be Members of the Y to attend. In addition, pizza and drinks are provided.
**PROGRAM REMINDER** - We don’t meet in June for Summer break and the July event will be held on July 20th at Salt City Splash. We will be back at the Y in August.

ATTENTION PARENTS - 2024-2025 IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS
K.A.R 28-1-20 defines immunizations required for any individual who attends school or a childcare program operated by a school. Please see the requirements for the indicated school year. The usual number of doses required are listed; however there are exceptional circumstances that could alter the number of doses a child needs. If you have questions about your child's immunization status, contact your child's primary care provider or local health department.
These requirements mostly pertain to those students going into PreK, Kindergarten, 7th grade and 11th grade this fall.
PROOF OF RECEIVING THE REQUIRED IMMUNIZATIONS MUST BE PROVIDED TO THE SCHOOL PRIOR TO THE STUDENT ATTENDING THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL.
There will be an School Located Immunization Clinic provided by the Reno County Health Department at:
Nickerson Elementary School - Monday, May 6 from 1:30pm-4:00pm and they will also be present at the Prek/Kindergarten Roundup that evening from 5:30pm-6:30pm.
South Hutchinson Elementary School - Monday, May 13 from 1:30pm-4:00pm and they will also be present at the Prek/Kindergarten Roundup that evening from 5:30pm-6:30pm.
There will also be immunizations available at USD 309 Enrollment on August 6th.
Please see the included paperwork if you'd like to take advantage of the clinic.

Spring is such a hard time to schedule evening events. We have teachers who are coaches, staff that have kids in sports, and other family events. We have tried very hard to find a date that works but at this time there are too many conflicts. We will NOT have Family Night this spring. We would like to encourage you to come to our Fun Day on May 17. As we get closer to the end of school we will send out more info on Fun Day. Thank you for your understanding.

SHE Families----We want to make sure our students are safe. Students are riding their bikes and scooters in the back parking lot after school. Teachers and staff are leaving the lot and some of the students are not watching for cars. Please visit with your child if they are out after school. Thanks
SHE Families---we made another change in order to keep our students safe during the construction. The bike racks will now be located by the far north door facing Poplar. The door will open in morning for bus and bike riders. When students are walking or riding their bike to school they will need to make sure that they use the crosswalk and are not crossing by the construction fence along Poplar. There is no sidewalk there so please let your child know. Thank you for helping us keep SHE students safe.

The construction is beginning and we are down drop off/pick up space. Please make sure in the morning when you pull in to drop off your students you are not parking in the lane. Also the buses will be using the alley to drop off and pick up students. They will exit onto Poplar. Please do not block the alley drive so that they can get out in a timely manner. Families who have bus riders we hope that the construction doesn't cause a delay in getting your kids home. Thank you for you flexibility and understanding as we get the new rooms built.

A broken plastic toy gun was found on the playground and it could not be determined if it was left after hours or by a student during the school day. Staff discovered it and it was disposed of but we just wanted you to be aware should your student mention seeing it.
SHE FAMILIES-----So. Hutch Methodist Church will be doing work on the west lot right off Poplar. The lot will be blocked off for the week. Thank you
