Using a variety of instructional strategies, students engage in relevant math situations to move their thinking through the 8th grade curriculum. Conceptual and visual understanding (the why is works) is stressed first before moving to the more efficient algorithms (how to do it). As a life-long learner, the instruction in my classroom continues to evolve.
